Jpegs and pdfs

Jpegs:

an internationally agreed standard for photographs.
Using jpegs (or jpgs) is very common. Where I have said I will supply jpegs this is for non technical work. Jpegs are versatile and it is very easy to adjust them – resize, crop, recolour but this versatility also makes them open to challenge by objectors. In a planning application they should be able to be supported by the original raw file if required.

Pdf

(portable document standard). Like jpegs, pdf is a recognised standard format. Unlike jpegs pdfs cannot readily be edited or altered bar some basic resizing. Pdfs are often used in printed work as they are difficult to alter accidentally. Like jpegs the can be open to challenge by objectors. In a planning application they should be able to be supported by the original raw file if required.
